Gardening for Schools – Sensory Garden Project with Primary 6
At Gardening for Schools, we were delighted to return for a very special planting session after the school’s Green Team recommended creating a dedicated sensory garden to enhance the outdoor learning space. Working alongside Kieran from Gardening for Schools, and guided by Eco-Schools coordinator Miss Greer, the Primary 6 pupils planted a beautiful selection of sensory plants designed to stimulate sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. With their varied textures, colours and scents, these plants will provide a rich, meaningful and calming experience for all pupils, promoting relaxation, supporting wellbeing, and nurturing a deeper connection with nature.
We are excited to see this space continue to develop, with future plans including the creation of outdoor furniture from recycled pallets. We look forward to supporting the next stage of this wonderful project as the sensory garden evolves into a truly special area for the whole school community.
